This is a self-initiated cover project in which I created a modern reinterpretation of the novel Ingen dans på rosor (original title I never promied you a rose garden) by Hannah Green. The book is a psychological drama that portrays a young girl’s escape from an unbearable reality into the seductive yet frightening world of mental illness, where the boundary between reality and inner experience gradually dissolves. In the cover design, I aimed to convey the sense of two parallel worlds and the difficulty of separating them, through contrasts of light and darkness, overlapping typography against the rose in the background, and soft, organic shapes that allude to the psyche. The goal was to create a contemporary and emotionally charged cover.
