Illustration

Crafted by hand & heart

To me, illustration isn’t just about creating something beautiful, it’s about making ideas visible. I use illustration to clarify ideas and add personality, making visual communication easier to connect with and more accessible, whether it’s for magazines, books, packaging or digital projects.

Why illustration?

In a world full of visuals, illustration adds something human. It can explain complex ideas, capture emotion and create a feeling that photography or typography alone often can’t.

Good illustration helps people connect – to stories, brands and messages. It can make information clearer, and sometimes simply make a project feel more alive.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Illustration

What does an illustration project look like from start to delivery?

We begin by defining purpose, target audience and context. I then develop sketches for review before producing the final illustrations. Delivery is made in agreed formats and adapted to the intended use.

Do you adapt style and expression to the project?

Yes. I have my own visual expression but adapt style, colour and level of detail to the tone, audience and context of each project.

What is included in an illustration assignment?

This depends on the project, but usually includes dialogue, sketch work, final illustrations and delivery in agreed formats. Terms and usage rights are always specified in the quotation.

How do rights and usage of the illustrations work?

Rights are defined in connection with the quotation. The client typically purchases the right to use the illustrations for a specific purpose, while copyright remains with me. Usage rights can be extended later if needed by agreement.

Do you work mainly digitally or analog?

I work digitally, but always begin the process analog, sketching and thinking by hand. This allows space for idea development and structure before finalising the illustrations digitally.
